The purpose of the post is to share an opportunity for our Wilton Soccer friends and family to kick in for another great cause, an ongoing effort to do and share good that we have coined #WiltonSoccerCares.
We are encouraging our soccer family to continue the momentum that our friends at Good Morning Wilton and WHS have built around Wilton Police Lieutenant Hartman (WHS alumni!) and Lieutenant Kluk’s mission to “Conquer Kilimanjaro” in honor of The Special Olympics. The pair are departing for an epic climb to the summit of Kilimanjaro (19,341 feet in Tanzania) in less than four weeks! The Special Olympics is the beneficiary of 100% of funds raised.
Remarkably, the Wilton Police team has raised over $25,000, but their goal is to reach $30,000 as part of a broader team effort to raise $150,000+. They also want to “win” the unofficial competition among neighboring town Police force teams by raising the most funds and we can help them do it!
With each collective $500 the WSA community contributes, we earn a picture of the WSA flag held proudly by our Wilton Police climbers at checkpoints on the route to the summit. $500 earns a picture at Mweka Park Gate (base camp / 6,000 ft) and $2,000+ earns a picture at Uhuru Peak (19,341 ft / the Summit!). Please mention WSA in your donation to help waive our flag to cheer on the climbers and our community.
Thank you to Lieutenants Hartman and Kluk for their dedication to our town and this great cause! Thank you to our WSA family for your support.
